The peace and quiet of the lodge is only interrupted by the sights and sounds of the surrounding nature. The melody of bird songs, monkey calls and elephant trumpeting create an orchestra of sounds to wake up to and the atmosphere throughout the day make it a perfect place to disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with nature.

​With close proximity to the national park, a casual drive to @ The River is quickly transformed into a game drive, giving you the opportunity to see elephant, lion, hyena, antelope, buffalo and birds. Ishasha’s famous tree-climbing lions keep watch from the branches, with lush vegetation and breathtaking views of the Rwenzori and the Virunga Mountain ranges in the distance.

@ The River is doing our part to help the planet by becoming a fully sustainable eco-property. Please be aware that water tanks and fridges are powered by hot coals and solar panels, and all meals are made fresh daily using seasonal ingredients grown on our property or sourced from a local market.
